SKIING IN SCHLADMING
In Schladming there is a ski resort with 123 km of slopes. The daily ski pass costs 56.5€. You will enjoy endless slopes of varying difficulty, including beautiful views. As accommodation we had rented the whole cottage, there are plenty of similar options.
MY BONUS
It wouldn’t be me if there was not a problem. The very first day after we took the ski lift to the top of the resort, I found out that I had small ski boots. So the endless slopes became literally endless for me, I skied all the way down without feeling my legs. So I advise you to test the equipment before departure 😀
dACHSTEIN
Dechstein is a glacier with a height of 2,995 m. It is located near the town of Schladming, which can be reached by train and then by bus to the glacier. A cableway goes to the top of the Dechstein, to which can be a long queue during the season. The daily ski pass costs around 60€ here. But I think it’s enough to buy a few hours. I managed the slopes here with the small ski boots, at the cost of not feeling my legs again. You can also go upstairs without skiing, there are beautiful views, restaurants, a suspension bridge and cut-out streets right in the glacier.
RAMSAU AM dACHSTEIN
Around the village Ramsau you can spend a day (except skiing) hiking or cross-country skiing. Due to the fact that my ski boots did not expand overnight, I decided to go hiking. The locals recommended me a cottage near Ramsau, where a very nice old lady will cook you a traditional food similar to brown betty, which she will flame right in front of you. It was a very pleasant experience. You can also reach this cottage by horse-drawn carriage, which departs from Ramsau and functions as a taxi.
